We Look Forward to Seeing You Sunday!
Dear 5K Tune-Up Participant,
Thank you for signing up for the 5K! Racing for Mental Health is excited that you will be participating in the inaugural 5K Tune-Up Run/Walk this Sunday, November 5th. It is going to be a great fall day for a run/walk on the beautiful circuit at the Midwest’s premier Autobahn Motorsports Club. This venue will provide a very pleasant run/walk experience. The track is a 40-foot-wide smooth performance grade surface with long straightaways. Racing for Mental Health wants this to be a fun memorable day for you, here is some information to make your Run/Walk go as smoothly as possible.
When entering the Autobahn there are several gates but ONLY one will be open for entry. Please proceed to the main gate, GATE 1. Once you have entered the Autobahn parking lot, there is an Autobahn Security Building in the parking lot before you reach an electric sliding gate to enter the Autobahn main facility. Just pull up to the gate and it will open for you to drive through. There will be 5K signs lined along the road directing you straight ahead. We will also have volunteer staff available to assist you.
Note: Please do not arrive before 7:30am. Check-in starts at 8am, Run/Walk starts at 9am.
Once you enter through the gate, proceed straight ahead on this Main Entrance to the roundabout, then continue to proceed straight ahead to the end at Autobahn Member Clubhouse. There is a parking lot in front of the Clubhouse, please park on the right-hand side. There is plenty of parking.
Check-in/Registration will take place inside the Clubhouse. There are bathrooms inside and there will also be refreshments. Before the Run/Walk coffee and water will be served.
Once you Check-in/Register, each participant will be given a bag with their Bibb # and their Raceday t-shirt along with some other giveaway items. Be sure to check inside your bag for these goodies.
The Run/Walk participants will begin to line-up on the track at about 8:50am with start time at 9am. At 10am there will be a one-mile Kids Fun Run.
After the Run/Walk you can head back to the Clubhouse for refreshments, breakfast snacks and fruit. At around 10:30am there will be award presentations for the top participants overall and in each age category along with free drawings for prizes with everyone attending eligible to win. The winner must be present in person when their name is drawn to win. There are several prizes to be given away, we hope you will stick around to win!
Before the award presentations, inside the Clubhouse will be Professional Racecar Driver Jordan Missig. Look for Jordan on the track, he too will be participating in the 5K. Jordan will have on display in the Clubhouse his Racing for Mental Health Racecar. Jordan will be available for photos and autographs. This will be a fantastic opportunity to speak with Jordan about his race career.
Racing for Mental Health will have information available about its programs. Please stop by and speak with one of our Community Ambassadors to hear what we have going on.
Our sponsors realize that there is no health without mental health. Our sponsors recognize how important it is for everyone to work on their mental health just like their physical health. These sponsors have made it possible to make this day extra special for our participants through their generous donations, including the giveaway items in each of your bags. Please remember these businesses and their commitment to stomping out the stigma associated with mental health.
Once on the track, here are a few things to know:
There will be emergency personnel present onsite during the Run/Walk. Joliet Fire Department paramedic services have been retained for this event and will be onsite.
You will not be left unattended on the track. There are cameras all around the track that make every part of the track viewable. These cameras will be monitored by security personnel throughout the Run/Walk to ensure your safety.
At the halfway point there will be a water station on the track with bottled water for you to grab and take with you. Also, there is an indoor bathroom near the halfway point.
We appreciate your support of Racing for Mental Health. Racing for Mental Health’s mission is to expand mental health awareness and to destigmatize mental health through conversations, advocacy, literacy, educational and outreach programs. It is through your support that we can continue this mission.
